Have you ever wanted to wear armor, wield a blade and experience fierce hand-to-hand combat? Well you
can in the Adrian Empire! We invite you out to our weekly fighter practice to watch the combat and talk
to members about getting started.
Weekly Fighter Practice is currently being held at La Pradera Park in
Phoenix, AZ, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
There are three (3) types of armed combat within the Adrian Empire:
Armoredcombat is fought with all manner of rebated metal weapons that existed within our time
period and geographic boundaries with the exception of those weapons listed in the Banned
Weapons List section. Armored combat is considered a knightly combat form and all Armored
combatants have achieved the rank of Sergeant or higher.

Shinai combat is the introductory combat type for the Adrian Empire. All combatants with little or
no weapons combat experience begin with Shinai and will eventually move on to Renaissance
and/or Armored combat. Shinai combat is slash-only. There are no weapons approved for
thrusting for this type of combat.
Renaissance This includes Schlager, and Cut & Thrust (C&T) types of combat. Schlager and C&T are their
own styles of combat. Schlager combat is intended to depict late renaissance swordplay involving
both thrusting and slashing. C&T combat is intended to depict early to middle renaissance
swordplay that employs heavier swords and more armor. This allows more aggressive techniques
to be used.
